Americans for the Trump Agenda Will Sponsor Freedom Leadership Conference on Feb. 16, Invites candidates for Virginia Governor to speak and will conduct Straw Poll to gauge reaction

Americans for the Trump Agenda (AFTA), formerly Americans Against the Obama Agenda has secured approval to co-sponsor the Thursday, February 16 Freedom Leadership Conference and has invited the candidates for the GOP nomination for Governor of Virginia to take 14 minutes each to explain how they would help advance the Trump Agenda consistent with the ideals enumerated in the Thurmont Statement of Conservative Principles if they were nominated in the June primary later this year and elected Governor in November.

Advance RSVP is required with payment for the dinner-conference starting at 5:30 PM until 9 PM.  In the event the conference dinner tickets are not sold out then $5 conference-only tickets will be provided to those who have advance reserved (in the order they reserved).  The last five conferences in 2016 were full capacity.  Notice will be sent to conference only ticket holders 3 days before the conference via email.

There will be a secret ballot straw vote with the winner announced following the remarks by the candidates.

Their remarks will also be videotaped and placed on this website and on youtube together with the option for viewers to vote for who they think would do the best job of supporting the Trump Agenda as Governor of Virginia.

Although the actual conference is only expected to attract a maximum of 100 attendees, the conference has regularly reached as many as 9,000 additional conservatives in Northern Virginia through its Facebook Fan page, paid Facebook advertising, e-newsletter, website and announcements posted at other organizations through their Facebook page and email newsletters.

The former Executive Director of Americans Against the Obama Agenda, Jon Moseley, actually introduced one of the candidates for Governor, Corey Stewart, some six years ago at the Freedom Leadership Conference in Norther Virginia.  Stewart and the other candidates for Governor – former GOP national chairman Ed Gillespie who came close to winning his last bid for statewide office in Virginia, Rep. Rob Whittman, and XXX have also been invited to appear on the same head table and to speak at the AFTA sponsored forum on February 16 at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel, Chantilly, VA from 7 to 9 PM, register to attend HERE.

Candidate Ed Gillespie is considered the frontrunner by some because of his name recognition due to his past run for U.S. Senate in 2014 and his narrow defeat.  Supporters of the other candidates point out that public opinion polls and name recognition mean very little this early in the campaign.

One candidate claims to be the most articulate conservative, while Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart points to his being one of the first supporters of a crackdown on illegal aliens in America, his early and vocal support of Donald Trump during last year’s primary and his service as State Chairman of the Trump campaign.  This year there will be a voter-primary instead of a convention and the campaigns are just starting to heat up.

If you want to learn more about the candidates or if you already have an opinion and want to show your support and also cast your ballot for your favorite don’t miss this Freedom Leadership Conference to be co-sponsored by Americans for the Trump Agenda.
